On July 3, the Top 50 projects will be announced in Amex's ongoing 'The Members Project'
campaign (we covered its launch,
here). As I write, an advisory panel of independent experts, including Gabrielle Reece, the professional volleyball player, and Rosabeth Moss Kanter, a professor at Harvard Business School (how I'd like to be a fly on that wall), are busy reviewing the projects that have received the most Amex cardmember ratings.

In total, it seems, 7018 projects have been submitted, and a quick glance through the 'Average Ratings' reveals that 'Cure for Alzheimers', submitted by
Supergirl5905, 'Fighting poverty in America's poorest communities', submitted by member
dbb54 (below) and 'One effort a day keeps our carbon footprint away' (a submission by
meganmedina), all received an average rating of five by cardmembers. A handful of other projects received an average rating of five, too, and you can check them out on the
site.

Once the Top 50 projects have been confirmed, Amex cardmembers gradually whittle them down through July to the Top 25, The Top 5 and then, on August 7, The Winner. We'll be back next week to tell you which ideas made it through to The Top 50.
I have to admit, I find the whole campaign pretty addictive. It's fascinating to read the different project submissions and I'm eager to see which ideas last the distance. Lordy lord, this is card marketing at its best.
